First Dance Studio In Howard County
Our Story
Arabesque Dance Studio was founded by Marcia Lachman and now directed by her daughter, Ginger Freint. We offer an established ballet program for the dancers aspiring to build a strong a foundation in dance technique, recreational classes in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical and acro, and competition teams for our dancers looking for additional performance opportunities. You can be sure when signing your child up for our dance classes, that they will be taught by professional and caring instructors.
We wouldn’t be known as the best dance studio in all of Columbia and Howard County without our excellent facility. We have a state-of-the-art sprung dance floor, 3 large dance rooms and a large waiting room equipped with observation windows.

Dress Code
IT IS IMPORTANT THAT DANCERS HAVE THE CORRECT TOOLS FOR CLASS.
Please make sure you purchase the required brand below as not all dance shoes are created equally. We want our dancers to have the tools needed to succeed.
GIRLS
Amazing Feet, Beginning 1 level through Intermediate 2 Levels
- So Danca or Eurotard brand PINK LEATHER BALLET SHOES with NO STRING TO TIE.
- So DANCA CARAMEL TAP SHOES WITH VELCRO STRAP
- EUROTARD TAN JAZZ SHOES for classes that include jazz,
Pre Pointe level through PRE PRO- ADV. LEVEL
- SoDanca or EUROTARD PINK CANVAS Ballet shoes
- BLACK TAP OXFORD TAP SHOES.
- Lyrical classes TURNERS
- Hip Hop 1-4 Weissman’s silver sparkle sneakers
- Hip Hop Pre Teen and up Weissman’s Black sparkle sneakers
- Leotard and tights or dance tops, dance shorts, leggings or dance pants.
- No baggy clothing. Hair back out of face please.
- Classes that are included in our ballet program require black leotard and pink tights, hair in a bun.
- There may be times when teachers will require something different for performances.
